A very popular public teaching followed by a delicious vegetarian lunch at the Centre. The meditation class covers methods to calm the mind and is suitable for everybody interested in meditation and improving their mind. The class includes breathing meditation techniques and discussion on how we can improve our experiences of daily life, our inner happiness and relationships.

Middle Length Lam-Rim

We resume on 7pm - 8.30pm 12th August continuing the module Stages of the Path. It is not too late to sign up now!

Chandrakirti will continue to offer the Basic Program - our ongoing 5 year study program designed by the Spiritual Director of Chandrakirti Centre, Lama Zopa Rinpoche. The Basic Program is especially suitable for students wishing to study in-depth some of Tibetan Buddhisms most treasured texts. We will be continuing to study Stages of the Path to enlightenment. Using the famous text Middle Length Lam Rim by Lama Tsongkhapa. 

We will be studying 7pm -8.30pm Monday and Wednesday evenings. The module will include homework, final exam, practice weekends. Students can complete one or more modules at our centre and the others at other FPMT centres which offer the Basic Program. Winter Residential Retreat 13

Topic:  Compassion/Chenreizig - will include guided meditation, instruction and practise to explore how our compassion and altruistic attitude can benefit our relationships and create a peaceful, harmonious living environment. Silence will be maintained for the bulk of the retreat.

Cost: There is a set venue cost of $115 per person for 2 nights accommodation. (Bunk rooms, Sheets and pillows provided, byo blanket/duvet/sleeping bag). Wholesome, simple vegetarian food provided, for which there will be a small additional charge (to be advised).

Join Sue for midweek yoga on Wednesday mornings 9.30 till 10.45am to balance, restore and energise you for the day, and Thursday evening sessions 6 till 7.15pm to release and relax into your evening. Sue's classes include asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing), and relaxation, and have a meditative quality. All levels welcome as Sue gives alternatives throughout the sessions, which are small and friendly. The retreat is suitable for those new to Buddhism and Yoga, as well as more advanced practitioners.

Reiki with Venerable Namgyel

Reiki Level 1: Friday 22 November - Sunday 24 November

Join Venerable Namgyel to become attuned to the Reiki Ray of healing. Reiki is a healing art that transforms and uplifts all who come in contact with it.

The first degree connects the student to the Reiki ray and begins an internal transformation. Once you have attuned to Reiki Level 1 you can practice the healing art daily. Reiki Level 2 attunement deepens the connection and allows the student to give mental and long distance healing. Please note that you can only take R2 after a period of at least six months practice.

Venerable Losang Namgyel, an Australian Tibetan Buddhist monk, has been living in India and Nepal and studying and teaching Buddhism for more than 30 years.

His teachers include such great masters as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Denma Locho Rinpoche, Choden Rinpoche, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Gen Lamrimpa and Geshe Sonam Rinchen, Venerable has also completed four years of Lam Rim retreats, and many tantric retreats.

During his more than thirty years in Buddhism, Venerable has taught in many countries primarily for the FPMT, including India, Nepal, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, France, the UK, Bangladesh and the USA.
